Itās great to be able to announce some good news about libraries!
We are Reading Champions at Bodnant Community School in Prestatyn, North Wales and some months ago we mentioned to the Head teacher about an amazing library bus weād come across in Hampshire.
After looking into costs we realised that to get something similar for Bodnant was going to cost over £50,000!
Undeterred, Headteacher Helen Vernon, set about raising the money to buy a double decker bus and work with the community to transform it into an amazing library!
After lots of hard work from the school and their team of volunteers we were chuffed to bits to be able to officially open the library in March 2016.
We are also glad to be able to play our part by getting lots of fellow writers and illustrators to donate pictures, books and messages of good will to the library. The Siobhan Dowd Trust also came up trumps by sending a wonderful selection of picture books for the new library. Thank you all!
We think youāll agree that all this amazing work has paid off! Well done to everyone involved in such a brilliant project!
