Well done to Ysgol Cystennin – a lovely, small primary school near Colwyn Bay in North Wales. They have just received a great Estyn Report – the school is considered good in all areas – not an easy thing to achieve in these days of inspection.
Why are we so happy for them? Well, we are the school’s Patrons of Reading and we’ve been visiting Cystennin for a couple of years – we love it!
The report highlighted how well the pupils read…
“Overall, most pupils read well and have a good understanding of texts. They use higher-order reading skills effectively in different subjects…”
Also the school was praised for their work with outside people…
“partnership working is a strong feature of the school’s work.”
…and that’s where we come in!
We look forward continuing the partnership!
