China (again)

1This term we have spent five weeks visiting schools in China and Vietnam and what a time we had!

We headed out to Beijing to see our good friends at the Western Academy of Beijing and the Beijing City International School for a fantastic fortnight.

Thanks for asking us back, John and Glenn!

During our time in the Chinese capital we managed to catch the World Athletic championships and the big (actually make that GINORMOUS!) military parade to celebrate 70 years since the end of World War 2.

We were lucky to see Usain Bolt beat Justin Gatlin tin the final of the Men’s 200 m and see the second longest hammer throw by a woman and the second longest triple jump by a man! What an amazing evening…

The second week saw us at BCIS (very briefly, as the Chinese Government decided that everyone should have a holiday – even if they didn’t want one) to celebrate 70 years of the end of WW II.

We were confined to hotel rooms as Beijing was pretty much locked down but the Chinese Airforce had the goodness of their hearts to fly right past Steve S’s hotel window!

We had a great time again – we really do appreciate the friendship of the people over in Beijing – see you all again soon!
